The TCI Sports Commission hosted the Igniting Change: Transforming Lives Through Sports event on June 15th, which featured the world premiere of the short film Ripple Effect.
The proceeds of this event were in aid of the Athlete Development Fund (ADF) and the Project I.D.E.A. Media Club. Ripple Effect was a product of the media club which is run by the TCI Sports Commission, and aims to kickstart early careers in sports media.
Numerous companies from the public and private sectors were in attendance, financially supporting the beneficiaries and enjoying the evening with their colleagues.
During the event, ADF recipients Tajhari Williams, Tanesia Gardiner, and Norman Saunders shared testimonials of how the fund has impacted their sporting careers to upward progression. The current ADF sponsors HAB Group, J&W Construction, Emara Properties LTD, Luxury Experiences Turks and Caicos, The Source, Waterloo Investment Holdings Limited, and Turks and Caicos Reservations were present to support the event. The event was also sponsored by the Wine Cellar and TC Crystal.

CARIFTA Medalist, ADF recipient, and Senior Men's Discus National Record Holder Antwon Walkin was the keynote speaker, delivering key messages on the importance of sports funding to the careers of our athletes from the perspective of a successful junior.
The Project I.D.E.A. Media Club is grateful to the tutors Samuel Jules, Rodney Rigby, and Renau Destine for their efforts. Additionally, a special thank you is extended to Inter-Health Canada and the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force for their support in producing the short film.
